As a teenager I desperately wanted to be bold and daring. I wanted to be everything that I was not. Frida Kahlo and Zelda Fitzgerald quickly became my personal pinnacles of perfection - crazy notwithstanding.
And while I have now come to accept and even embrace my quiet and reserved ways, I still have a deep love for the color and depth of Frida's life. Being in her home and having the opportunity to see the spaces where she walked and ate and worked, made me aspire to her courage and boldness all over again.
