Happy End of the School Year

The last day of the school year never fails to make my heart pitter patter. The promise of summer is a wonderful thing indeed. However, there is also something about the end of the year to make me giddy about the promise of something else - new crayons, fresh whiteboard markers, a new start and an organized classroom.

I love these lithographs from 1894. If I could I would use them in my classroom now. That mechanics of arithmetic is gorgeous and still as helpful as it was 120 years ago.
